The House of Representatives has bowed to pressure from Nigerian women on some of the Constitutional Amendment Bills on gender.
Preceedingly, Women Groups had laid siege on the National Assembly, demanding it to rescind its decision on the five bills rejected during the voting on Constitutional Amendment Bills.
However, the House of Representatives on Monday, 7th of March, 2022, resolved to change its stance after a motion moved by Senator Hassan Fulata, the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business.
The Bill to expand the Scope of Citizenship, Criteria for Indigenship and 35% affirmative action in Political Parties Administration would also be revisited by the Lawmakers.
The three bills would now be voted on by the House of Representatives in a yet to be determined day.
