“Continue To Broadcast Authentic And People’s Oriented News:” Alake Urges Radio Nigeria


The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has called on  Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, FRCN, to sustain and even add value to its philosophy of broadcasting truthful and fair news to Nigerians


Welcoming an FRCN delegation led by the new Zonal Director and the new General Manager Paramount FM, Abeokuta, to his Palace, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo noted that Radio Nigeria had sustained its leadership in professional and honest news disseminations to every section of the Nigerian society.


The Alake however expressed worry over the rising cases of fake news in the name of breaking or hot news in the country.


He said that, the incidence of fake and immoral news seemed to be reducing the many advantages of social media.


Oba Gbadebo told his visitors that, the FRCN should sustain its iconic leadership of other respectable news media houses in order to diminish fake news spreaders.


The Alake also appreciated the cooperation of Radio Nigeria Southwest Zone especially Paramount FM, Abeokuta, adding that the staff had always been supportive.

Oba Gbadebo prayed for the new Zonal Director of Southwest Radio Nigeria, Mrs Bolatito Joseph and the new General Manager Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mr. Akinyinka Akintola as well as the General Staff in the entourage.


Speaking earlier, the Leader of Delegation and New FRCN Zonal Director, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph, told the Alake that, the top most hierarchy of the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, FRCN, had highest regards for the Alake, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the good people of Egbaland and entire Ogun indigenes.


Mrs. Joseph disclosed that, the Radio Nigeria appreciated Oba Adedotun Gbadebo based on His Royal support, Egbaland friendship and support of the people of Ogun State for the national station.


She told the Alake that, Paramount FM, Abeokuta, and the other eight  FECN Zonal Stations in Southwest had grassroot programmes  for the coverage areas, in relations to their cultural, economic and social activities, adding that they would continue to add values to programmes that were beneficial to the growth and development of the people in Ogun State and other Southwest region as well as Nigeria as a whole.

Egba High Chiefs present at the occasion were the Balogun of Egbaland; Chief Sikirullahi Atobatele and the Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland; Chief Layi Labode.
