Members of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Yewa South Local Government have been charged not to relent in giving necessary and adequate supports to government towards infrastructural development of communities across the local government area.
The Transition Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Rahmon Fagbenro, who gave this charge during a meeting with members of Oluwalogbon Community Development Association in Ilaro, pointed out that, supports and contributions of CDAs to governments developmental stride would speed up infrastructural development of communities, as well as engender social and economic growth.
Represented by the Director of Community and Social Development, Yewa South Local Government, Mrs. Tayo Ajibola, the Chairman appreciated the good effort of the CDA for putting in place, street lights covering over 150 meters length of road in the community, which according to him, has added more beauty to the community roads and security of lives, especially at night.
He stated that the effort of the CDA spurred the Council authority to recently graded the community roads, adding that the community would further be considered in the Local Government developmental plans.
Responding, the Chairman of the community, Prince Samuel Oluwafolajimi Bankole thanked the authority of the Council for grading their roads, pointed out that the CDAs interventions were aimed at complementing government’s developmental efforts.
Prince Bankole, who commended the council’s Transition Chairman for effective monitoring of the monthly environmental sanitation in the area, said members of Oluwalogbon CDA had always participated in the weekly and monthly sanitations, to avoid spread of diseases in the area.
He pleaded with the government to assist in the channelization of the community drainages to prevent flooding and empowerment of women so as to boost their socio-economic status.
