Court Orders Resident Doctors To Suspend Strike, Resume Work Immediately


The National Industrial Court, sitting in Abuja, has granted an order of interim injunction directing members of the National Association of Resident Doctors in all the 36 States of the Federation to call off its strike action immediately.

Besides, the rules that NARD members should resume duties forthwith until the hearing and determination of the pending motion on notice challenging their action.

The order was made by a vacation judge, Justice John Targema, PhD, upon hearing an ex parte application dated August 18, which was brought by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Government as Claimants/applicants.

The ex-parte motion was moved on behalf of the claimant’s by D.E Kaswe Esq.
The motion on notice has been slated for hearing on September 15.
