The Alumni Association of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, distributed Covid19 Relief Materials to three Host Communities under Obafemi Owode Local Government on Friday, March 8, 2020.
The National President of the Association, Mr. Hakeem Ayoade, while addressing the Community representatives stated that palliatives were targeted at the old and the needy residents of Adekambi Village, Agejo Village, and Agbadu Village.
He added that the donation is the first of its kind and will definitely not be the last.
Mr. Hakeem Ayoade also noted that the residents had always cooperated peacefully with the institution and been contributing positively her well being from time past.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Adedeji advised the residents that Covid19 is real and should not be treated with levity, adding that cleanliness is enemy to the Virus.
He further urged them to regularly wash their hands with soap or alcohol-based hand sanitiser, maintain good personal hygiene, carry on social distancing, and be cautious in their farming works.
The Palliative items donated were bags of rice and beans for each of the Host Communities, as well as nine packs of noodles and some hand sanitisers.
Mr Micheal Ayinla Bamgbose appreciated the institution on behalf of the Communities alongside one Deacon Olaogun, who expressed that there has never been this kind of palliative support to the indigenes.
He also praised the Alumni for the good gesture extended towards them by providing the palliatives.
“We can never forget this great favour, it shall forever remain in our hearts.”Deacon Olaogun added.
