The Ogun State Head of Service, Mrs. Amope Chokor has charged the management of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and all relevant stakeholders in the sector, to collaborate with government and improve the State position on the table of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), as well as standard of education.
She gave the charge while meeting with the Management and Staff of the Ministry in commemoration of her retirement from active service, imploring stakeholders to support government’s initiatives and avoid anything that could jeopardise standards of education.
Mrs. Chokor advised workers to be more dedicated, committed and supportive to the cause of the government, saying that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration was making efforts to ensure wellbeing of workers in the State.
“We know Covid-19 has hindered schools from opening but it should not stop us from driving the process of improving the education sector, we are still not at the very top, therefore we need to increase our efforts to improve the standard of education”, Mrs. Chokor admonished.
She commended the steadfastness and commitment of the ministry, saying there was reward for hard work and that the opportunity they have to serve should not be taken for granted.
Welcoming the HoS earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye thanked God for the life of the outgoing Head of Service, describing her as a dedicated and peace loving woman, who gave the best in the discharge of her duty as a Civil Servant.
Mrs. Ogunleye prayed God to give the HoS long life in good health, to enjoy the fruits of her labour and continue to be relevant after retirement.
