Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration in Ogun State has commenced training for its Commissioners and other government functionaries, on the use of Smart Mail Technology towards the digitization of governance operations in the State.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Dayo Abiodun who made this known while speaking with journalists at Ogun TechHUB centre, along Kobape road, Abeokuta, said the purpose of the training was to increase the use of ICT to create enabling environment for governance.
Mr. Abiodun, who further disclosed that the training was not only meant for political appointees but for the entire workforce in the State’s Civil Service, across all levels, added that the training would make all to be more productive, deliver on time, create efficiency and build capacity.
The facilitator, Mr. Ayomikun Akinbode, in his remark, affirmed the readiness of the trained Commissioners to effectively use the smart mail technology, saying they had shown exceptional interest and practical knowledge during the training.
Akinbode noted that the training, which centered on the use of Smart Mail Technology for effective administrative operations would go a long way to ease the bottlenecks often experienced with the present filing system in the Civil Service
In their separate responses, the Commissioners for Environment, Hon. Abudu Balogun, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo and that of Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan said the training was quite educative and enlightening, adding that it would make their operations better.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, his counterpart in Forestry, Engr. Tunji Akinosi and that of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, said the training would ease official dealings, aid communication and minimise delays in decision making process.
