The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Okukenu IV, may after all, stop using face-mask in spite of the existence of COVID19 still prevalent.
This is because the Egba Apex Monarch had received the second jab of the Covid19 Vaccine today, 28 May, 2021, at his Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
Newsflagship reports that the officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Health, led by Dr S. A. Olayinka, the Ogun State Health Coordinator, and other medical officers administered the second dose this morning at Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
After receiving the vaccine, Oba Gbadebo called on all Egba Chiefs and residents to also endeavour to receive theirs also.
Alake also urged those who had not received the first dose to go and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
He added that “If eight weeks had passed since my first shot, then it is only a matter of time before one gets fully immune to the Covid, please go get your second dose now.”
Oba Gbadebo appreciated the Government for the free immunisation of the citizens and commended their efforts towards preventing the spread of the Coronavirus disease.
He further said to those who were campaigning that the Vaccine was dangerous that they should stop spreading false information because he had taken the full vaccination and is now 90 percent immune to the Covid.
Speaking in the same vein, the Aro of Egbaland, Chief Yinka Kufile, said that when there is a law, the people should obey it, because that is how peace can reign in any Nation.
He further commended the Alake for leading by example and obeying the laid down Covid19 immunisation protocol.
He also appreciated the Government for the laudable efforts taken to immunise the Citizens of the deadly disease.
In his message, Doctor Olayinka explained the importance of the second dose, adding that it was necessary for the survival and peaceful coexistence of humanity, where large gatherings can be normalised as it was before and the use face masks can discouraged.
The Director of Vaccination, Ogun State Ministry of Health, Dr Suraju Olayinka, told the Alake and some of his Chiefs present at the occasion that, the second dose of the Vaccine taken by the Alake, Oba Gbadebo, marked the official ending of vaccination against Corona Virus Exercise.
The Director of Vaccination, was however quick to add that the Egba Paramount Monarch and his High Chiefs, might just continue to wear the face-mask for some time, pending the time most of the people would get the second jab of the vaccine.
Dr Olayinka appealed to the Alake to use his exalted position to convince the Egbas and residents of Egbaland, to take the two dosage of the vaccine so as to be free from contacting the virus and be safe.
He also reiterated that after the second dose, one will be 90 percent covered from COVID-19.
Dr Olayinka further said Alake and his Chiefs had been a good example to the people of Egbaland, by obeying the health directives of the government.
The Balogun of Egbaland, Chief Sikirullah Atobatele, Seriki Tosin Fadare, Aro Yinka Kufile, Aare Baaroyin, Chief Layi Labode, Ake General Secretary, Chief Femi Ogunmokun and others were also present to receive their second dose of the Covid19 Vaccine.
