Egba Economic Summit: New President Pledges To Build On Achievements of Immediate Past President, To Quickly And Totally Realise Summit’s Economic Vision And Mission In Egbaland.


As the Egba Economic Summit elected another President on Friday, 24th of December, 2021, the new Helmsman, Chief Adesina Luwoye, had pledged to sustain and add value to the, Continued Model, of the Egba’s foremost economic development forum.

Chief Luwoye stated this, while taking over the mantle of leadership from Chief Kehinde Sogunle, at the 8th Annual General Meeting of the Egba Economic Summit which was held at the Summit Hall, Ibara Housing, Abeokuta on Friday.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed President of the Summit, Chief Adesina Luwoye pledged to make the organisation, a greater institution by adding concrete values to the job and achievements of his immediately predecessor, Chief Kehinde Sogunle, who he described as a committed and resourceful intellectual brother.

The new Egba Summit leader, who is also the Asiwaju Mayegun Egba, reassured members, that he would never break the faith they had reposed in him, adding that, he would live beyond their expectation.

He noted that, the poverty index was up everywhere, adding that, as the new President, Egba Economic Summit, they would be more impacting on the people of the Egba society.

He also stated that the mission of the Summit, was to provide alternative platform for businesses and economic activities to thrive in Egbaland, adding that they were ready to achieving that goal.

He reiterated that the past Presidents and leaders of the Association, had done so much to make the Summit lived up to its responsibility.

The Asiwaju Mayegun of Egbaland also promised that, he would locate all members of the Summit, who had not been coming to meetings, so as to achieve a great tenure and accomplished his objectives.

He promised to continue the engagement, towards the transformation of the Summit to make the organisation, reliable and dependable.

The newly appointed President disclosed that, he would engage the State Government, the Egba Paramount Ruler and Traditional Institutions as well as other several owners of businesses, in order to make Egba Economic Summit achieve its mandate and make Egba a better place

Speaking further, he said he would engage the past Presidents in his tenure, adding that, he had no political affiliation and a great Unionist.

Chief Luwoye also commended the immediate past President for his great works and achievements, adding that, he would build on his legacy, from where he stopped and raised the bar.

In his remarks, The Chairman, Egba Economic Summit, Chief Ayo Karunwi congratulated the new President.

He added that, the Asiwaju Mayegun of Egbaland was worthy and capable of being appointed as the President, Egba Economic Summit, adding that his expectation for his tenure was very high.

He also congratulated the immediate past President for many great achievements made, during his tenure.

Also speaking, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, the immediate past Secretary to Ogun State Government, SSG, noted that, the newly appointed President had a good record of performance and resourcefulness.

Barrister Adeoluwa urged the newly appointed President to be open-minded, fastidious and committed in his service as the President.

He also called on the Summit to define their intervention in the society and to be more impacting to the people at large.
