Some Egba Chiefs are to be honoured with the United Nations Senior Citizens Certificates on Tuesday 5th of October, 2021, at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
The Awards would be conferred by the Egba Humanitarian and Development Council, which forms part of activities lined up for the Alake of Egbaland Free Annual Medi-Care and Lecture in honour of the elderly.
The Grand Patron of the Egba Humanitarian and Development Council, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the Alake of Egbaland, would preside at the occasion scheduled to commence at 11 am.
Those being honoured included Baagbimo of Egbaland, Chief Israel Akanni Akinwale, among others.
Meanwhile, the Alake Health Outreach had completed arrangements to deliver free medical services to senior citizens at the Ake Palace on Tuesday.
Some of the Council Leaders and Members including High Chief Bode Mustapha, the Chairman; High Chief Tosin Fadare FCA, Vice Chairman; Aare Jide Taiwo, DG; Chief Omolola Abiola-Edewor, Board Member; Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN, Board Member; Mrs Anthonia Akinlawon SAN, Board Member; and Prince Yemi Shodimu, Media/ Publicity, discussed with the Alake on Monday, 4th of October 2021, at the Ake Palace.
Aare Jide Taiwo started by introducing the board and and mentioning to Kabiesi that EHDC constitutionally have Alake as Grand Patron, Osile Okeone as Patron, Agura of Gbagura as Patron, and Olowu of Owu as patron.
He commended Alake’s support and love for the well being of the elderly and the entire Egba citizens.
Aare Jide Taiwo also disclosed that the program is to be strictly Covid19 Safety Protocol Compliant.
