Egba Science Education Foundation: Chairman Calls On The Nigeria Government To Pay Sufficient Attention To The Development Of Science And Technology In The Country.

The Chairman, Egba Science Educational Foundation, Professor Ajao Adelekan has called on the Nigeria Government to pay sufficient attention to the development of science and technology in the country.

Professor Adelekan disclosed this in an interview with Newsflagship Correspondents, during the Inaugural Annual Lecture of the Egba Science Educational Foundation at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Tuesday, 15th of March, 2022.

The Baamowe of Egbaland noted that, science and technology was the major source of development in any country, adding that, most of the developed countries in the world were developed, because of their full participation and promotion of science, technology and innovations

He stated that, the present situation, Nigeria had found itself, was because of its insufficient attention towards the development of science and technology.

Speaking on youth innovations in the development of science and technology, he reiterated that, if the young pupils were being encouraged to further improve on their scientific innovations, they would affect the socio-economic and technogical development of the country positively.

Also speaking on the agricultural development of the country, the Baamowe of Egbaland urged the Government to encourage people back into farming, recalling that, sometime in Nigeria, agriculture was the main foreign exchange, but crude oil came and agriculture was forgotten.

Professor Adelekan also reconfirmed that, parts of the Foundation’s agenda was to promote and encourage the young pupils to take interest in the study of science.

He further disclosed that, they had planned to recruit younger ones into the Foundation, as plans to encourage and improve youth creativity.

He therefore commended the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo for his contributions towards the growth of the Foundation and his impact on the development of education in Egbaland

Professor Adelekan noted that, the Alake had been a Rallying Point and Bridge Builder in ‘sustainable all round education for the youth throughout the Egba nation,’ adding that, the Egba Apex Monarch should not relent on his enduring drive.
