Eid-El-Fitri Celebration: Amosun, Muslim Chiefs, Clerics, Others, Pay Annual Salah Homages To The Alake.


The Ake Palace was a Beehive of activities on Monday, 2 May, 2022, when Muslim Faithfuls trooped in to pay their Annual Salah Homages to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, at his Palace.

First to arrive were the Egba General Title Chiefs led by the Balogun Egba who in conjunction with other Chiefs, prayed for the Alake, Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria

While the Exercise was going on, the Alake received an entourage of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun, representing the Egba Senatorial District, accompanied by a mammoth crowd, which had followed his entourage from the Lantern Muslim Praying Ground, Abeokuta.

The immediate past Executive Governor of Ogun State, had in his entourage, the Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Sarafa Tunji Ishola and former Executive Chairman, SUBEB, Honourable Jeleel Okewole.

In his 15 minute courtesy call, Senator Ibikunle Amosun prayed for the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, adding that, the visit was a normal duty as an Egba Patriot, to pay the Alake a courtesy call after observing the Eid-EL-Fitri, which was held at Lantoro as well as other import occasions.

The APC Presidential Aspirant disclosed to Alake that he would be leaving the Palace, back to Abuja immediately.

Senator Amosun, after exchanging pleasantries with Chiefs and others, left immediately after Alake’s short prayer for him.

He was again, followed out of the Palace by the big crowd that had ushered him to the Palace about 15 minutes after.

Also the Muslim Community led by Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Sa’ad Baamigbola and the Balogun Egba, represented by Seriki, Alhaj Lateef Abiola, paid the Alake, the usual annual Sallah Courtesy Prayer Visit..

The Egba Muslim Community, started their own proceeding after Senator Ibikunle Amosun left the Palace.

The highlight of the visit was the presence of the Women Wing of the Egba Muslim Community.

The Egba Muslim Women Cheifs had been absent for some few years.

In his sermon the Egba Alfa Tafsir, Sheikh Amolegbe expressed worry over the abdication of natural and nuclear parental responsibilities by parents.

Sheikh Amolegbe condemned religious leaders including Christian and Muslim alongside, parents for ignoring the mentoring and monitoring of the youth when it mattered most.

He complained that materialism as against the spirituality, as the bane of the Nigerian society today.

In his response, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, called on Muslims, Christians and people of other faiths to note that we a belong to the same society.

The Alake reminded everyone that if the societal foundation given to the children was wrong, we all stood to suffer the repercussions of our abandoning of responsibilities.

Present at the occasion were Balogun Sikirullahi Atobatele, Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode, Gbolasodun Lateef Adenekan, Akingboye Sakiru Akingbade, Aare Akinrogun Musbaudeen Babarinsa, Ambassador Bobagunwa Olatoye Okanlawon, Amona Baaroyin Tajudeen Oladeinde, and Bada Onimo-Ero Yekeen Somade
