ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has recorded two death, while 54 others were reportedly injured.
Announcing this to newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele disclosed that, three crashes occurred at Lagos-Ibadan expressway after Ramona Park, Ibadan expressway Car Park Turning point and Lagos-Ibadan expressway within Guru Bridge respectively.
Commander Oladele explained that the accident at Lagos-Ibadan expressway occurred around 4:50am on Tuesday involving a Volkswagen bus with registration number LSR 917 XG.
He confirmed that, two people died on the spot while 26 people sustained various degree of injuries including three children.
He pointed out that, the second crash involving a Toyota Highlander jeep with Registration number MUS 222 FE and a Volvo car with registration number AJ 576 KNH have three people who sustained injuries but have been taken to Supreme Hospital for treatment.
While advising motorists to drive with caution, the Ogun FRSC boss, reiterated the commitment of the state command to maintain law and order on the highways.
He noted that, the roads are currently undergoing rehabilitation and are prone to high presence of construction which requires caution and strict adherence to speed limit.
He therefore warned that, traffic offenders risk impoundment of their vehicles till after the festivities and liable for prosecution.
