Jigi Alake initiative, under the Umbrella of Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council (EHDC), will begin free Medical Care to Elderly People living in Egbaland on Tuesday, 5th of October, 2021.
The medical outreach will hold at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
According to the Director General of the Group, Aare Jide Taiwo, the Bagbaje of Egbaland, the initiative started in the year 2019, and this year’s free medical outreach is to mark the international Senior Citizens Celebration.
Besides, the Bagbaje of Egbaland also stated that the beneficiaries would receive free eye screenings and tests, checks for diabetes, high blood pressure and others, as well as free drugs and eyeglasses, which would be given to the elderly aged 65 years and above.
Gov. Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State Governor, who is expected as the Guest Speaker, is also billed to deliver a lecture tagged: Effective Pension system and Establishment of Senior Citizens Centre at State Level.”
The chairman of the event, Prof. Akin Mabogunje and Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the Special Guest of honour, would also be present at the International Senior Citizens Day Celebration at the Ake Palace.
Recall that Newsflagship had earlier reported that the DG of Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council, Aare Jide Taiwo, in a statement, encouraged people living in Abeokuta to inform the elderly to take advantage of the medical mission.
The Board of EHDC Chaired by High Chief Bode Mustapha (Osi Egba), has other members such as the High Chief Tosin Fadare,FCA (Seriki Egba/Vice Chairman), Aare Jide Taiwo(Bagbaje Egba/DG), Chief Omolola Abiola-Edewor (Osi Iyalode Egba/BOD Member).
Others are Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN(Legal Adviser), Mrs. Anthonia Akinlawon SAN, Prince Yemi Shodimu (Publicity Secretary).
