People living with disability have been advised to engage in sporting activities and vocational job, rather than begging around the communities.
The Chairman, Ogun State Special Need Sport Group, Comrade Kayode Ogunmefun, who gave the advice in an interview with Pressmen in Abeokuta, said, being physically challenged does not deprive them of achieving greatness in future and contribute their quota to the development of the nation.
Ogunmefun challenged them to make “Ability in Disability” their watchword and find something doing, saying, “the formulation of our group is to call those begging to start doing something or join sport groups, so as to eradicate begging, joblessness, idleness and so many other things that could affect their lives”.

He appealed to the new administration to revive sport activities in order to have positive impact in special need sport group and the State at large, adding that, “our coming for the inauguration is to express our love and support to our new Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun”.
A Paralympics’ athlete, Innocent Nnamdi stressed the need for government at all levels to appreciate special people in sport, so as to motivate them in representing the State well and the country at large.
A member of the group, Oluwatoyin Ogunmefun, implored other colleagues to engage in entrepreneurial activities for a sustainable livelihood, noting that, “I and other colleagues in the State have represented the State at various sporting activities, we have family at home; being physically challenged is not the end of life’’.
