Feeding of the Poor And The Needy: Discrimination Should Be Disallowed Among Various Religious Sects – Alhaja Monsurat Olomu


The Chief Executive Officer, Women and Children of Hope in Nigeria, (WOCHOP), Alhaja Monsurat Titilayo Olomu has called on all  religious leaders to disallow discrimination among various religion sects

Dr. (Mrs.) Titilayo Olomu made this known during her welcome address at the Ramadan 2022, Feeding Programme of Aged and Widows and others, held at the Ijaye Central Mosque on Tuesday, 5th of April, 2022.

The Chief Executive Officer, (WOCHOP), stated that, if the nation had to grow, ethnicity, discrimination and tribalism needed to be eradicated.

She therefore called on all religious leaders and individuals to spread love, peace and unity, irrespective of their religion, tribe, beliefs and background

Speaking further, Mrs Olomu referenced that, her Foundation, WOCHOP was an epitome of love, which others should emulate, adding that, it was purely established for the benefit of everyone, irrespective of the religion.

She explained that, the Initiative was primarily created to give provisions to the poor, needy, orphans among women, and also assist such people in the area of health issues such as Malaria, HIV and AIDS.

She recalled that, during the Covid-19, the Initiative assisted the needy with palliative, adding that the coverage went beyond Abeokuta, extending to its immediate environs.

Alhaja Titilayo also disclosed that, the Initiative came into full force in Abeokuta, adding that it extended its provision to many town and villages in all the four divisions of Ogun State which are Egba, Ijebu, Remo and Yewa.

She noted that, the NGO was not discriminating among Muslims, Christians and Traditional believers, noting that, it had been about anybody that needed help.

Speaking specifically on the day’s exercise, she said that women as well as men regardless of this religious affiliation from all four corners of Ogun State had been invited and would be given palliatives.

She therefore appealed to the recipients not to consider the quantity but the NGO’s good intention behind giving something, which the Foundation could muster.

The Chief Executive Officer thanked the donors for their big contribution towards the full support for the needy during the Ramadan
