Final Burial Service For The Ogboye of Egbaland, Comes Up Today


The Final Burial Ceremony of the late Egba Iconic Christian, Businessman and Traditional Leader, Chief Solomon Olufunso Akinremi, who passed on at the age of 86, comes up today, at Our Saviour African Church, Gbokoniyi Street, Ojere, Abeokuta.

The 2 hour Funeral Service would start by 10am and would be fully Covid19 Safety Protocol Compliant.

Meanwhile, the African Church Archbishop for Ogun State, Rev. S. O. B. Ojumu had said that Late Chief Solomon Olufunsho Akinremi, Ogboye of Egbaland would for a long period of time, be remembered for his good works while alive.

According to Rev. Ojumu, the week long of song and praise organised by various religious group was in appreciation of his hard work and commitment to Christianity during his lifetime.

The Cleric made this known while delivering a sermon titled, ‘The Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden,”‘ during the Wake Keep Service for the Late Egba Icon at Bishop’s Court, Onikolobo, Abeokuta on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021.

The cleric stated that God did not initially plan for any man to die but death was caused by continuous growth of sin of man.


He, however, disclosed that the Late Baba ijo of Christ African Cathedral Church, Igbore had lived well and left a good legacy for his children and loved ones.


Rev. Ojumu admonished all persons to meditate on how to live right and leave a good legacy after death.

He further urged the children to uphold the good legacy of their father.

In his remarks, Chief A. A. Solagbade, on behalf of Our Saviour African Church said that Late Chief Akinremi was a true believer and straight forward individual.
According to him, the deceased would never be forgotten by the Church.

Chief Solagbade also noted that the Late Ogboye Egba always supported bible quiz every Sunday.

He, therefore, urged children to continue in the exemplary footsteps of their father, adding that they should not allow the bible quiz to die.

He disclosed that he had known the Late Ogboye since 1940 and he had never helped him to settle any dispute with another person.

Dr Olugbemileke Akinremi, while delivering his tribute for his late father, extolled the great legacy he left for him, his siblings and the entire family.

He described the Late Ogboye as a solution provider and a soul winner for God.
He also said that the most important legacy he left for them was to love and serve God diligently.

He urged everyone to get it right with God and live a life worthy of emulation.

Among the Christian leaders present at the occasion was his Eminence J. O. Abbe, Most Rev S. O. B. Ojumu, Most Rev Julius Oludotun Ogunseye, Rt Rev D. O. Akinremi, Rt Rev Emmanuel Oludaisi, Rt Rev Ebenezer Olufemi Ogunbayo, Rt Rev J. T. Okunlola, and others.
