The Chairman of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Lion Oba Odukoya, has said that Chief Tunji Labode, Fcna, a former ICAN President has paid his dues in the Accounting practice through laudable contributions and initiatives.
Mr Odukoya said this while delivering a keynote address, during the Association’s Public Lecture, held in honour of a founding father, at the Tunji Labode House, ANAN Secretariat, Moshood Abiola Way, Abeokuta, on Monday, 25th of October, 2021.
According to him, Alhaji (Chief) Tunji Labode was described as a man of integrity, generosity, growth and development, who wants the greater development of his community at large.
He also appreciated the former ANAN President for the numerous support and assistance he had rendered to the People, ANAN, ICAN, and other Financial Bodies in the Country.
Lion Mr. Oba Odukoya further stated that the celebrant was a wonderful man who had always shown love and care for the people around him, adding that he personally benefited a lot from the the ANAN icon.
Mr. Odukoya disclosed that the Celebrant made a substantial impact on ANAN, and that he successfully registered the Association to full membership of IFAC (International Federation of Accountants).
He urged every one to always find a means of making impact in their various professions, no matter their financial capabilities.
In his address, Chief Adebayo Adeyemi, the Chairman of the occasion, recalled that when Chief Tunji Labode was the ANAN National President, he used his influence with the then Ogun State Governor to build Ogun State ANAN Secretariat.
Chief Adeyemi described the Celebrant as a colleague of high repute and a trusted associate, who had always shown cheerful and accommodating personality, since he had known him.
He also stated that Accounting had evolved in so many ways, as the future of the profession is laced with Artificial Intelligence Technology.
The Chief Host and Manager of Tunji Labode & Co, Mr. T. W. Raji, disclosed that Alhaji Tunji Labode was a man everyone could reckon with, adding that, the Celebrant loves accountability and transparency in everything he does.
Mr Raji also urged every Accountant at the Occasion to look beyond auditing alone, stating that, venturing in other businesses, like medical line, tourism, academic field, business arena would boost their accounting practice.
He implored his colleagues to always be engaged with their clients, in order to minimise their clients’ problems.
He further congratulated Chief Tunji Labode for his enduring legacies and prayed that God grants him longer life and prosperity.
In his goodwill message to the celebrant, Alhaji (Chief) Layi Labode, the Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland and brother to Chief Tunji Labode, congratulated the ANAN Icon for making his mark in the profession.
Chief Layi Labode also said that his brother had always been a dedicated and honest fellow since childhood.
He further added that he was proud of him and prayed that he would live longer in good health and prosperity.
