AGURA of Gbagura, His Majesty, Oba Babajide Abdusabur Bakre, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and Olori Bakre

The Gbagura Regency Council, Kingmakers, Chiefs and people of Gbagura, today presented new AGURA of Gbagura, His Majesty, Oba Babajide Abdusabur BAKRE, to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo at the Ake Palace.

In his address, the Chairman of Gbagura Regency Council, Chief Adio Bayewun, said that all the five members of the Gbagura Regency Council, who unanimously voted for the Oba Babajide Bakre, reflected the wishes and aspirations of the Gbagura people in the choice of the new Agura.

Chief Bayewun disclosed that Gbagura’s choice was based on an Agura who would fully cooperate with the Alake in the Growth and Development of Egbaland.

Chairman of Regent Committee explained that the Alake, Oba Gbadebo, had always identified with development in the entire Gbaguraland all the time. 

In his remarks, the Alake described the selection of Oba Babajide Bakre as timely and very popular.

The Alake said he was in possession of the minutes of the proceedings of the selection, adding that the outcome reflected the very choice of the Gbagura people.

Oba Gbadebo enjoined the new Agura to use his paramilitary experience of service, total commitment and fairness in serving the Gbagura people.

In appreciation of the Alake’s reception, the Bobagunwa of Egbaland, Bode Mustapha, told the Alake that Gbagura indigenes, would sustain its cooperation, respect and friendship with the Alake, who he described as an all time compassionate and loving father of the Egba Nation.

Many Obas and Egba High Chiefs were present at the occasion. They included OluOkeOdo, Oba Muftau Akindele and Oba Nofiu Otunba, the OnijayeTitun among others.

The Oluwo , Chief Adeboye Adeyemi; the Odofin, Chief Kola Akintoye; the Aro, Chief Yinka Kufiile, the Baagbimo, Chief Akanno Akinwale and the Bantun, Kehinde Sofenwa.

Other Egba High Chiefs present included, Aare Ganiyu Babayeju, the Ogboye S.A. Akinremi, the Kemi Oloyede, Ogun Iyaloja Egba, the GbegbaAje, Teju BAKRE and Baaroyin Layi Labode.
