The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has guaranteed that a befitting Hall would be available for next year’s edition of the Lisabi Festival
Prince Dapo Abiodun made the statement when addressing the Alake, other Egba traditional rulers and Egbas present during the Grand Finale of the Festival on Saturday
The Governor also expressed his satisfaction with Egba Indigenes from all over the world who have not forgotten their homes and have come to give back to the development of the society, he stated that he was pleased with some who had come up with the initiative of awarding scholarships to students; promoting education in the land and that the Ogun State Government is in full support if such enterprise
He noted that the 34th edition of the festival is the first during his tenure and expressed his gladness to be a part of it , he then commended the Alake and other Egba traditional rulers and High Chiefs for promoting patriotism and love for the Egba Culture through the Hero; Lisabi
He also acknowledged the fact that Egbaland is known for playing very important roles in enhancing the development of Nigeria as the first Church, Newspaper, Chartered accountant, Lawyer, and many other professions, in the country emerged from the area
He then disclosed that as the Governor of Ogun State, he would donate 10 million naira to the New Abeokuta City Hall Project and he promised to call on investors from around the world to also take part in the historical idea.
The Governor added that a lot of initiatives have been put in place to build a brighter future for Ogun State assuring that the State would be the food basket of the nation at large
The Alake in his speech, expressed his joy in the fulfillment and the success of the 2020 Lisabi Festival, adding that next year’s edition would be better and more comfortable for everyone
Oba Adedotun thanked the Ogun State Government for support and commitment to the Egba nation and prayed that his tenure would bring more success to Ogun State at large
