The newly crowned Olodan of Odan, Odan-Abuja-Sule, Oba (Engr.) Nosiru Ayinla, has been charged to use his position to initiate ideas, draw credible and influential personalities that would bring development to the town.
Ogun State Governor, Price Dapo Abiodun, gave the charge at the Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the new Monarch at Odan-Abuja-Sule in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, saying this would justify the mandate and trust reposed in him by the State government, as well as the people of Yewaland.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, urged the new Olodan to continue to champion courses that would enhance peaceful co-existence with neighbouring towns and also cooperate with other royal fathers in Yewaland and Ogun State at large.
“As Kabiyesi, you are expected to collaborate with the State Government and all security agencies, in order to achieve the much needed peace and security in Odan-Abuja-Sule, as growth and development could only thrive in an atmosphere devoid of chaos and acrimony”, the Governor said.
He enjoined the entire community to give the new Oba all the respect, support and cooperation needed to launch their town to an enviable height, as all hands must be on deck for speedy development of the town, reiterating his administration’s commitment to “Building our Future Together” agenda, which had contributed immensely to the socio-economic well-being of the people of the State.
In his address the Chairman, Transition Committee, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Lawal, appreciated the Governor for approving the installation, adding that the present administration recognised the key role played by the traditional institution in the development of the State and would do everything possible to repositioning the institution.
In his response, Oba Ayinla assured the people of his commitment to the growth and development of the community, promising not to betray the trust they have in him.
