Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has enjoined Nigerians to support wives and families of fallen soldiers, by extending hands of fellowship to them and not wait until the next Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Prince Dapo Abiodun who made this known at the Special Church Service to commemorate the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peters, Ake, Abeokuta, said his administration would continue to support the Nigerian Legion, as well as living heroes.

He urged the people of the State to always remember the struggles of both the living and fallen soldiers by assisting their families, for their labour not to be in vain.

In his reading, the Governor noted that, “some men left a reputation, and people still praise them today. There are others who are not remembered as if they had never lived, but we will praise these godly men, whose righteous deeds have never been forgotten”.

The Bishop of Yewa Diocese, Rt. Revd. Michael Oluwarohunbi in his sermon, said ‘’the first thing that comes to mind when the Day is mentioned is peace’’, commending the Governor for being a man of integrity and for carrying everyone along in his programmes and policies.
