Following the intention of Airtel Nigeria to support government’s security architecture, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on its management team to also support his administration’s quest to extend Tech Hub to Ogun East and West Senatorial Districts of the State.

Prince Abiodun made this known when he received the management team of Airtel Nigeria in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying government intended to establish one Tech Hub per Senatorial District by converting some of the 26 model schools built by his predecessor to serve as centers, to enable the citizenry to be Information Communication and Technology (ICT) compliant.

“I want to seize this opportunity to enjoin you to please come and partner with us, because we intend to have one in Ogun East and another one in Ogun West as well. We believe that this should fall in line with your Corporate Social Responsibilities, particularly in the light of what you’ve done in Imodi”, he said.

The Governor urged Airtel to continue supporting the State, in continuation of the company’s objective of rendering quality service, as well as touching lives, calling for their collaboration in the forthcoming African Drum Festival.

“Let me appreciate you for what you have done for us. I want to thank you for having supported us at the previous Adire Festival and the Drum Festival, and I want to take this opportunity to inform you that we are preparing for another Drum Festival this year”, he said.

Welcoming the Airtel team, the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje, said the State Government places high premium on the safety of lives and property of the people, expressing delight at the Company’s goodwill for government to realise its objectives.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel, Mr. Olusegun Ogunsanya, said the visit was to complement government’s efforts at providing adequate security to the people, as the company was impressed with the State’s security arrangement in providing a conducive environment for the people and business to thrive, commending the level of transparency and sincerity of Governor Abiodun led administration.

He noted that the company, apart from involving in business venture, also undertook community support activities, disclosing that the firm had rehabilitated a public school at Ijebu-Igbo, gave financial support to the needy and assisted some people in solving some challenges.
