Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi will deliver the second edition of the Alake of Egbaland Free Medi-Care Initiative and lecture for the Elderly in commemoration of the International Senior Citizens Day celebration.
The Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council (EHDC), organisers of the lecture explained that the second edition of the programme would be marked to celebrate Alake of Egbaland who is the Grand Patron.
His Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Okukenu 1V, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, will be 78 years on 14th September 2021.
The Board of Directors of EHDC Chaired By High Chief Bode Mustapha (Osi Egba), High Chief Tosin Fadare (Seriki Egba/Vice-Chairman), Aare Jide Taiwo(Bagbaje Egba/DG) Chief Omolola Abiola-Edewor(Osi Iyalode Egba/BOD Member), Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN(Legal Adviser), Prince Yemi Shodimu(Publicity Secretary), wishes Kabiyesi a happy 78th birthday.
According to the council, the Humanitarian programme is slated to hold on Tuesday 5th of October at the Ake Palace to celebrate Kabiyesi’s birthday with the Elderly.
Gov. Kayode Fayemi, the guest lecturer is expected to speak of the theme: “Effective Pension System and Establishment of Senior Citizens Centre at State Level.”
Expected as chairman at the event is Prof. Akin Mabogunje while Dr. Taiwo Afolabi is expected as the special guest of honour.
The 2nd edition of the free annual Alake of Egbaland Medi-Care for Elderly (Jigi Alake Initiative) screening will be conducted, as well as checks for Diabetes, and Highblood Pressure.
Furthermore, free drugs for Diabetes and Eyeglasses will be given to all the Elderly aged 65 years and above.
This event will hold within the Alake of Egbaland palace.
The DG of Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council, Aare Jide Taiwo in a statement, encouraged people living in Abeokuta to inform the Elderly around them so that they can benefit from this medical mission as it is open to all while attendance at the lecture shall be strictly by Invitation.
