The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has charged the newly sworn in Senior Special Adviser and the Special Advisers, to key into the objectives of his government, saying their loyalty and dedication should be “100 percent”.
Prince Abiodun who gave the charge during the swearing in of eight cabinet members, comprising one Senior Special Adviser and seven Special Advisers at the Executive Council Chambers, Governor’s Office, Abeokuta, enjoined them to join hands in achieving the vision of the present administration and discharge their duties responsibly.
” I want to congratulate and officially welcome you all into the fold, even though you have all been acting in those capacities before now, this event formally places on you that responsibility. My charge to all of you is to keep the vision of this administration close to your hearts, discharge your duties and obligations very responsibly. You will be held accountable to the various sectors that you’ve been assigned”, he said.
Abiodun charged the appointees to ensure that they work closely with their Commissioners and create harmonious working relationship with Civil Servants, who he described as the Chief Accounting Officers of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He advised them to come up with a roadmap on how their various agencies would achieve the administration’s mission, as well as keeping abreast with government policies and programmes at all time.
The Governor also urged the appointees who were not at the retreat organised recently to avail themselves with its details, noting that it would guide them on protocol, public communication and correspondence.
“I will like to request that you avail yourself with the details of what we shared with each other at the retreat and be guided by such accordingly, as matters treated are very fundamental, to properly align you with how things are done and how we will like things and business to be conducted in the State”, he said.
Speaking in an interview, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hon. Remmy Hassan, said his appointment was a call to serve and an opportunity to add value to the Governor’s vision and the progress of the State.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Lekan Olude, said though this was his first time in the public service, he would work towards equipping the youth with relevant skills that could open up opportunities for them, while the Special Adviser on Rural Development, Mrs. Peju Shote, said she was ready to work towards opening up the rural areas for accelerated development.
Others sworn in were; Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, Senior Special Adviser on Political Matters, Mr. Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Gbenga Adeshina and Mr. Jide Sanwo, Special Advisers on Revenue and Mr. Lolu Adubifa.
