The Oba Odi-Olowo, Mushin, Lagos, His Majesty, Oba Abdul Fatai Irawo, has joined his ancestors.
Oba Fatai Irawo, who until his demise, was a founding member of the 50 year old top Lagos flight “High Society Club of Nigeria” and later its Patron died today in Lagos at the age of 80.
The home call of Ebenezer Obey Commander’s sellout waxed record, “Irawo Ko Ba Mi Wa’le, Mo fe Ko Petesi Kan,” was made public on Thursday, 28 November, 2019, by the Secretary General of the Club, Alhaji Mustapha Tahiru.
Alhaji Tahiru confirmed that the High Society Club of Nigeria’s icon and Oba of Odi-Olowo, Mushin, would be buried tomorrow Friday, 29 November, 2019 at his Palace, 49, Sokunbi Street, Post Office, Mushin at 4pm according to Islamic rites.
An Elder and one time Governor General of the Club, Alhaji Chief Babatunde Rahman, the Odofin of Ikanna, Egba, near Orile Imo, described the late Oba Fatai Irawo, as Professional Estate Valuer and Consultant of inestimable value.
High Chief Babatunde Rahman said that the Oba Fatai Irawo had left a big gap in Estate Management and Development in Nigeria.
The Egba High Chief noted that, the late Iconic Socialite, in spite of his high profile socialising, never mixed pleasure with hardworking mien.
He recalled Oba Fatai Irawo’s synergy with the late Club’s Grand Patron, Oba Okunade Sijuade in bringing social clubs to higher level of social commitment and responsibility.
Meanwhile, the Governor General of the club Capt. Chief Oluwole Agoro in active consultation and collaboration with the Life President, Chief L A Shoyombo, the Baa-Oyinbo of Egbaland and the Elders Council, has declared a 7 days mourning in the Club to show maximum respect and love for the late Iconic Socialite and Patron of the Club.
