The Awgu Local Government office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Enugu State was on Sunday set ablaze by unknown arsonists.
Sources told Newsflagship that the INEC office was setablaze at the early hours of Sunday by yet unidentified hoodlums.
An eyewitness account, who spoke on condition ofanonymity, said part of the building and important documents were burnt duringfire inferno.
He said,” Though men of the Fire Service was alerted to put off thefire but before they could get there, the fire had destroyed part of thebuilding and other documents”.
All efforts to contact the Police Spokesperson of EnuguState Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe to confirm the fire incident proofedabortive as he did to pick his calls.

A staff of INEC in Enugu who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the incident saying” staff of the commission and security operativesare already in our office in Agwu to ascertain the level of damages, as well as the, unravel the cause of the fire incident.
On record, the building marked the 4th INEC office thatwould be set ablaze in Enugu state in less than 6 months.
