Former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola and a ministerial nominee on Monday said he would push for a new tax regime against wealthy people in the country to raise revenue.
Aregbesola made this known when he was being screened by lawmakers in the Senate.
The former Osun state governor said he would pioneer “privilege taxes” for those who have huge resources.
“I will advocate for a just taxation system that will bridge the inequality in the system, ” he added.
Aregbesola also revealed that disparity in the payment of salaries during his reign in Osun state was stopped in July 2018 before the expiration of his tenure in November.
