‘If You Have Problem With The Nigerian Customs Service, Don’t Come To Me’ – Alake Warns


The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland has again warned people not to seek his assistance, if ever they have any infractions with the Nigerian Customs Service.

The Alake gave the warning at the Ake Palace on Monday 11 April, 2022, when receiving in audience, the new CustomsAreaController, Ogun 1 Area Command, Comptroller Bamidele Abiodun Makinde, and his entourage.

Oba Gbadebo noted that the Nigerian Customs Service had been assigned to collect revenues for the Government and it was incubent on them as Government Agency to professionally and efficiently deliver on that task.

Alake noted that prompt payments of tax and excise duties on goods and services were a patriotic duty of every Nigerian business man or woman which in turn translates into provisions of social infrastructures and amenities.

The Egba Apex Monarch advised Nigerians to engage themselves in legitimate and honest businesses adding that paying taxes and duties were their ways of contributing to the growth and development of the country.

The Alake also prayed for the Comptroller and his team to achieve resounding successes in their assignment as Government Major Revenue Gatherers, urging them to be forthright and committed so as to be seen to merit the advancements in their career he had prayed that God should grant the Comptroller and his team.

Speaking earlier, the new CAC, Ogun 1 Area Command, Compt. Bamidele Abiodun Makinde, told the Alake that as a direct son of Ake Township of Egbaland, he was not new to the Palace, adding that as a young man, he had been frequent to the Palace as an Ake son and Egbaland patriot.

He however disclosed to the Alake, that he was very happy and excited that his coming to pay homage to His Majesty as a Controller of Ogun State Area 1Command is in an official capacity.

Makinde told the Alake that he was in Ogun State to continue the good works of his predecessors in ensuring legitimate Customs duties in imported goods and excise revenues on manufactured goods we’re paid to the coffers of the Government of the Federation.

He assured the Alake that he and his men were up to the task of professionally discharging their duties.
