The demise of the Iyalaje of Ijaye Muslims, Alhaja Chief Mutiat Asake Martins, nee Olabode Okunola, has been announced, She was aged 80.
Late Alhaja Mutiat Asake Martins, was also the Iya Adeen of Ifesowapo Central Mosque Idi-Aba, Abeokuta until her demise.
The Chief Imam of Ijaye, Alhaji Musbau Olomu, in a short sermon during her burial on Friday, said Alhaja Mutiat Asake Martins, had paid her dues in the service of Allah and humanity and admonished others still alive to be constantly aware of a day when it would have been too late to make amends.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chief Imam of the Ifesowapo Central Mosque, Idi-Aba, Alhaji Razaq Olatunji, noted that Alhaja Mutiat Asake Martins, had lived and left a legacy of total submission to Allah, adding that it was left to others to emulate righteousness or choose negative path.
Alhaja Mutiat Martins was succeeded by brothers, including Baaroyin Layi, BabaAdeen Ijaye Tunji, Amona Adeen, and Chairman Ijaye CDC, Juwon Labode.
Five children also survived the late Iyalaje of Ijaye Muslims. They are Bimbola Osanyintola, Lukman and Taju Martins, Deaconess Kubura Longe and Afusa.
