Ijaye Muslim Community Unanimously Confirms Layi Labode As The New Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims.
The leadership of the Ijaye Muslim Community, has confirmed its new Balogun and Aare Egba Muslims.
He is Alhaji Muhammed Solih Ayinde Layiwola Labode, the Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland. Until his elevation, Chief Layi Labode, was the Otun of Ijaye Muslims and Olootu Adinni of Egbaland.
The elevation and confirmation of Chief Layi Labode to the apex local rank among Ijaye Muslim Chiefs, as well as Aare Egba Muslims Elect, unanimously took place on Sunday, 17 January, 2021 at the house of the immediate past Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslim Communities, late High Chief Yunus Adesina, at Adebakin Quarters, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
The Chief Imam of Ijaye, Sheikh Musbaudeen Olomu and his Ratibi, Sheikh Radio Murtala Hamza offered prayers for the repose of the immediate past Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims.
The Mufasir of Ijaye, Sheikh Muhammed Adeola Adaranijo, in his sermon, urged the new Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims Elect, to run an all inclusive and understanding leadership of the Muslim Community in Ijaye adding that the commitment and patriotism of Alhaji Chief Layi Labode, was not in doubt.
Sheikh Muhammed Adeola Adaranijo also called on both Ijaye Clerics and Chiefs to rally round the the new Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims, in order to achieve maximum goals in growth and development in Ijaye and Egbaland
Other Ijaye High ranking Muslim Chiefs were also elevated.
They were former Chairman, Agege Local Government, Chief Jubreel Kareem, who moved from Osi to Otun; while the Ekerin, Chief Olusesi of Adebakin Quarters, also elevated to the Osi Ijaye Muslims.
The BabaAdeen of Ijaye, former ANAN President, Alhaji Chief Shakirudeen Tunji Labode, conducted the elevation exercise to fill vacacies that occurred after the demise of Chief Yunus Adesina, Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims some two months ago.
The Chief Imam of Ijaye, Sheikh Musbaudeen Olomu, alongside other 12 Ijaye Imams, offered prayers for the repose of the immediate past Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims as well as for the the new Officers of the Ijaye Muslim Community.
In his response, the new Balogun Ijaye and Aare Egba Muslims, Alhaji Chief Layi Labode, pleadged total cooperation, fairness and an all inclusive leadership adding that synergy with all the stakeholders would be his watchword.
Other Ijaye Muslim Chiefs present, included, Akogun Fatai Afuape, Alafin- Tajudeen OgoOluwa, Sarumi Muideen ‘Wola Salau Akinrogun Lukman Fasina, Basorun Afeez Balogun, Seriki Waheed Adetona Oganla Musbau Babarinsa and Asiwaju Tekobo Akanbi.
