IJEBU- IGBO GETS MODEL HEALTH CENTRE

In its resolve to provide effective healthcare delivery to meet the health needs of the people, Ogun State Government has commissioned a model medical centre at Ijebu- Igbo Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking at the commissioning, held in Obada, Ijebu- Igbo, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye said the centre was a former six bedded maternity centre renovated to a 26 bedded model primary health centre, adding that it was first of its kind in the country and has been adopted by the Federal Government, as a masterpiece, expected to be emulated by other states.

 Dr. Ipaye stated further that the healthcare package to be provided at the centre would include; ante- natal services, immunization, maternal and child services, family planning, tuberculosis and malaria treatment and some general surgical procedure.

He also disclosed that the centre would handle some health issues usually referred to secondary and tertiary health facilities, adding that, a brand new ambulance had also been made available at the centre to attend to referrals.
