Ogun State government has identified Information Technology (IT) has a strategic tool for good governance and economy boost, when harnessed to its full benefits, noting that the industry has a huge economic benefit in the development of any state or nation.
The newly sworn-in Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his inaugural speech at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, promised that his administration would developed an information Technology plan that would support his ‘’Building Our Future Together Agenda’’, saying IT would be introduced to achieve and enhance operational efficiency, effective service delivery and accountability, citizens engagement and transparency in the conduct of government affairs.
‘’Ogun State under my watch is poised to harness the full benefits of Information Technology, both as an enabler of good governance and the care of the Digital Economy’’, the governor said.
He revealed further that the IT plan to be created would high-light a roadmap for the State, to take advantage of its many tertiary institutions and enterprising youth population towards a strong digital economy.
Speaking on workers’ welfare, Abiodun said his administration would prioritise welfare of Civil Servants in the State, rather than compounding their problems and denying them of their rights, saying, workers were the prime resource of the State and an economy is as good as the quality of its work force.
