Better days ahead for rural dwellers in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, as the Hon. David Bankole led transition Committee has commenced grading of roads in the area.
About 25 km roads stretching from Alagbada, Idi-Iroko, Erinpa- Adeniji and Erinpa-Adegbola were currently undergoing grading to ease vehicular movement and make life more comfortable for the people in the area.
Speaking with newsmen in his office at Ayetoro, the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. David Bankole said, the intervention was to enable farmers convey their produces from the farm to urban centres without difficulty.
According to him, ‘’grading commenced on these roads in order to ensure easy movement of farm produces to the market’’, assuring that it would be extended to other parts of the Council Area in due course.
The Chairman, Council of Ayetoro Baales, Baale of Ilupeju, Chief John Faleti, commended the intervention, which he noted would remove the hardship confronted by farmers in moving their produce to the market and at the same time address the yearning of the people in the rural areas.
Also, the Chairman, Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ayetoro branch, Mr. Rasaki Ogundeji appreciated the Local Government for the grading, saying, commuters and motorcycles plying the roads would be relieved.
Some residents in the area, Mrs. Folake Sanu, Mr Kuponiyi Akapo, and a driver, Mr. Kola Ojugbele, thanked the Council Boss for the gesture, while appealing for speedy completion of the project before the raining season.
Erinpa-Baale, Sunwa, Owode-Ketu and Abotokio roads, known as agrarian areas were also being graded.
