JUST IN: INEC Officials Arrested In Abia State With 10,000 PVCs

POLICE operatives Independent National Electoral Commission for allegedly being in possession of over ten,000 Permanent elector Cards.

It was gathered that one in all the suspects, merely known as Frank Philip Stella, was inactive at a stop at INEC head workplace in Umuahia, the metropolis.

Stella was same to own stuffed the PVCs within the booth of her Honda Accord saloon automobile with Registration No.AKD 953 FN.

It was gathered that the suspect was inactive whereas making an attempt to maneuver the PVCs illicitly to a location wherever they were to be accustomed rig elections in favour of some politicians within the last Saturday’s deferred presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner within the state, Prof. Joseph Iroh, confirmed that the suspects were staff of INEC.

He same they were on an officer assignment in Ikwuano authorities space before they were inactive.

Iroh value-added that the INEC workplace within the state wasn’t contacted to properly clear them before they were taken to the police headquarters to form statement.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Geoffrey Ogbonna, also confirmed that the suspects were arrested by the police.

 He said one of the suspects claimed that she was reportedly returning the uncollected PVCs to the INEC head office before she was arrested by Police
