About two thousand absorbed Civil Servants, who trooped out in appreciation of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s magnanimity to incorporate them into the Ogun State Civil Service, as well as paying backlog of nine months’ salaries, have been charged to justify their appointment and not allow government regret its decision to absorb them into the Service.
Speaking with the newly absorbed Civil Servants appointed through Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) examination, in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Governor enjoined them to be role models in their respective agencies and justify their employment by being dedicated to duties.
He noted that his administration’s, having reviewed the last minute appointments by the past administration decided to absorb them and pay their full salaries, backdating it from the time they received their offer of appointments, saying his government believed it was the right thing to do.
“On assumption of Office, we setup a Committee to look at all these promotions and appointments; having reviewed the report of that committee, we decided that the right, just and equitable thing to do was to absorb all of you formally and that we did and also decided that you deserve to be paid from the time you received your letter of employment till date”, he said.
Abiodun reaffirmed that his administration was not out to witch-hunt anybody, reaffirming his stance on upholding good governance in the State, as he continues to do right before God and man

In her response, the Head of Service, Tpl Amope Ajibola Chokor thanked the Governor for his decision to absorb the Officers, urging them to contribute their quota and improve service delivery in the State.
Speaking on behalf of the new entrants, Folarin Oladapo, Badejo Ayodele and Olatunji Olabisi, thanked the Governor for his kindness, assuring that they would work assiduously to move the State forward.
