….Begin European Scouting Tour

NIGERIA – Former Super Eagles Captain and Arsenal legend, Kanu Nwankwo would return to Nigeria this month with a team professional scouting team, ICC Scouts to organize a football scouting event.

Kanu who is currently in Canada with his team of Academy coaches from premiership clubs and Netherland National team for a week long European Scouting Event, is expected to return to Nigeria August 27 this year for the football scouting showcase.

According to a release by the promotional company, OZ Consulting Firm, the ICC Scouts in conjunction with Kanu Soccer Academy are organising a football scouting showcase event from August 27th to 7th September, 2018 to scout for talented and gifted players who dream to Play Professional Football in Europe & UK or wishes to Obtain scholarships & play College Football in Canada or USA.

The company’s coordinator, Ms. Abi Goodman explained that, the event which is billed to take place in Abuja, Abia, Yola, Akure, Asaba, Bauchi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos and Port Harcourt is for players between the ages of U-15 to U-23.

Goodman said the U-15, U-18, and U-23 teams selected from each location after the scouting exercise would play a tournament involving the entire age grade.

Ms. Abi added that the best three players at the end of the US and Canada tournament will get a year contract in Uk Academy or scholarships with universities abroad.

“Kanu Soccer Academy is registered and located in CANADA with a mission to scout younger talents from CANADA & Africa for colleges in North America’ and academy clubs in Europe.

“The academy has a wide range of experience in coordinating football scouting and showcase events. 12year-old British-Nigerian Owen Goodman fulfilled his dream of playing professional football after attending Kanu Soccer Camp in 2016 in Alliston Ontario Canada.

“He was scouted by Senior Regional Scout Coordinator at Crystal Palace FC Academy, Colin Cardines. Owen is currently with Crystal Palace FC U15 and schooling in UK.

“Apart from Kanu Nwankwo, the camps will also feature the following professional coaches:- Colin Cardines, Senior Regional Scout Coordinator at Crystal Palace FC Academy, Brad Senar, Lead Development Coach at Development Centre for Manchester City Football Academy, James Quinn, Academy Football Coach Everton Football Academy and Jason Garforth, Professional Scout & Technical Director at County FC in Canada.

“For young footballers age 15 to 23, in Nigeria, we are excited to inform you that Kanu Soccer Academy, Canada and the foreign scouts led by Collin Cardines will also be coming to Nigeria later this month for the 2018 ICC scouting showcase”.
