The Ogun State Police Spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi has informed Abeokuta residents that, the recent crisis between the Hausas and Yorubas at Lafenwa market, had been brought under control.
DSP Oyeyemi disclosed that, no life was lost, contrary to the report that a Hausa man was killed in the incident, but added that people were injured while shops were also burnt and property destroyed.
According to the Police Spokesman, several persons in connection to the crisis had been arrested
He further explained that, the Hausa man was injured and some people went to town with the rumour that the injured man died and that was what led to the whole thing and the issue escalated.
DSP Oyeyemi noted that, they were still investigating the clash, adding that, whoever that was found culpable would be charged to court
