Rev. D. O. Akinremi has said that the Late Chief Solomon Funsho Akinremi would be remembered for not holding grudges or malice with people that holds contrary opinions with him.

Rev. Akinremi said this while delivering a sermon titled, ‘Things You need to do to gain Everlasting Life,’ during the Funeral Service of the Late Ogboye of Egbaland at Our Saviour African Church, Gbokoniyi, Ojere, on Friday, September 3rd, 2021.

Rev. Akinremi confessed to having disagreement with the Late Icon occasionally, saying the deceased would easily overlook them without holding any animosity against anyone.

He described the deceased as a true believer who had always walked in the way of God, saying differences exists between being a worshipper and a person that has taken God as the Lord and Saviour.

He added that a true Christian, like the Late Ogboye, does not die, but sleep till the time of resurrection.

Besides, the Cleric added that for an individual to gain an everlasting life, he must possess qualities such as selflessness, truthfulness and religious strength, saying all these were true nature of the deceased.

The Cleric in solemn voice described the passage of Papa Akinremi as a great loss to Egbaland and all Christian Brethren, adding that the late icon believed so much in accountability.

He disclosed that the deceased had in a conversation promised to complete the Bishop’s Court apartment building regretting that death snatched him without notice

He appealed to all Akinremis to fulfil their father’s wish and immortalise the Late Icon’s legacy, and also remain united.

Responding, a son to the deceased, Pastor Peter Akinremi said that they would deliberate on their father’s promise to build and bring Bishop’s Court Apartment Building to completion.

The weeklong burial rites would be rounded off with a thanksgiving service on Sunday, September 5th, 2021, at the Christ African Church Cathedral, Igbore, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
