The first Amphitheatre in Nigeria, is under construction at the Business District of Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
Speaking during the inspection, Senator Ibikunle Amosun expressed satisfaction on the job done so far by the contractors but urged them to work harder and faster to make the edifice functional and ready for the 35th Edition of the Festival scheduled to commence in weeks.
He directed G.Cappa and the site engineer to install strong and safe railings on the staircase, which he suggested must be friendly for the elderly.

As the Senator was about to leave the site of the Ake Amphitheatre, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and some Egba High Chiefs, joined him as he conducted them round the underground area.
Thereafter, Senator Amosun informed the Alake that for the period of the Festival, a temporary roofing would be installed while the permanent one and other fittings would be done later.
Responding, the Egba Apex Monarch appreciated Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for his proverbial love, commitment and dreams of the Greater Egba Nation.
On the entourage of the Senator Amosun were, Her Excellency, Mrs Amosun, the Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Chief Sarafadeen Tunji Ishola; former SUBEB Chairman, Alhaji Jelili Okewole; and the Abeokuta South LGA South Transition Chairman.
