The Lisabi Festival would continue to promote unity, peace, progress and prosperity among the Egbas, their friends and neighbours.
According to the Chief Host of the 34th Lisabi Festival, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, the annual theme of the Festival would also continue to reflect the projections of the youth and cultural values that would enhance the well being of the Egba Nation.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo who was speaking at the finals of the Lisabi Festival Ayo Game Competition today, said Ayo Game was a cultural mathematical and brain thrust game which helps helps both young and old to think fast and right.
The Alake thanked the Grand Oak Nigeria Limited for its regular support over the years for the Festival, recalling that the original founder of Seaman’s Schnapps, Nigeria, Egba High Chief Ayo Rosiji, would ever be remembered for his numerous contributions to the development of the Egba Nation.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo appreciated the Seaman’s Schnapps Prizes for various categories of winners urging them that the good people of Egbaland would sustain the good relationship
Thanking the Alake and the Lisabi Festival Committee, the spokesman for the Grand Oak Nigeria Limited, Mr. Benson, noted that the Cultural relationship between Egbaland and Seaman’s Schnapps as the Prayer drink of the Festival for the past 34 years is an eloquent testimony of the sustainable friendship and understanding between Egbaland and Grand Oaks product
Mr Benson told the Alake, Egba Obas and Chiefs present as well as numerous spectators of the Lisabi Festival Ayo Games Grand Finale that prizes for winners in male and female categories would be greatly increased and improved at 35th edition of the Festival next year
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Festival, Agbaakin Rasheed Raji commended Grand Oak Seaman’s Schnapps for its consistency in supporting the Festival’s activities especially in Ayo Games Competition and visit to Lisabi Forest
Chief Rasheed Raji implored Grand Oak to spread its support to other areas of the Festival such as education and sports
In another development, the Alake and Chief Host of the Lisabi Festival, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo declared open Cultural and food exhibition by the Six Egba local governments of Ogun State
In his address, the Alake implored all Egba sons and daughter at home and abroad to improve, consume, and market Egba products including foods to other parts of Nigeria and abroad
The first prizes of the Ayo Game Competitions among the six Egba Local Governments of Ogun State, sponsored by Grand Oak Limited, Makers of Seaman’s Schnapps, were won by Aiyedun Seun from Obafemi Owode in the male category and Adeniyi Fatimah from Ifo in the female category; a Century Rechargeable Fan each alongside other prizes
The second position prizes, two gas cylinders went to Sabitu Babtunde in the male category and Lawal Adenekan in the female category while the third position prizes, two Dry Pressing Iron were won by Sunday Ope in the male category and Ariyo Azeez in the female category alongside other prizes
Obas present at the occassion included Oba Muftau Akindele; Olu OkeOdo, Oba Saburi Bakre; the Agura of Gbagura, Onijale of Ijale Papa, and the Olu Olotunda. Egba High Chiefs included Agbaakin Rasheed Raji, Baagbimo Akanni Akinwale, Amona Oba Sorunke, Adaranijo Lawrence Bankole, Asiwaju Onimoero Akanni, Aare Oluomo Professor Afolabi Soyode, Asiwaju Onisegun Alabukun Odulate and wife, Akingboye Lika Ibara and Ijeja, Adenine Odunjo, Seun Olabode, and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode
