ABEOKUTA – Online Journalists are currently in Abeokuta to deliberate on the narrative of hate speech and conflict reporting ahead of the 2019 general elections. 




The Director ,International Press Centre, Nigeria (IPC), Mr. Lanre Arogundade said the workshop was imperative to change the narrative of online media as tool for promoting hate hate speech.

Arogundade added that, the training was to imbibe the principle of fairness, objectivity and diversity in reporting election process.

The workshop taking place at the event hall of Continental suites in Abeokuta had in attendance the NUJ chairmen from Lagos and Ogun respectively, Comrades Qasim Akinreti and Wole Shokunbi, Dr. Dan Jibo and Professor Nosa Owen-Ibie among other participants.
