LOCAL GOVERNMENT MINISTRY PROPOSES N240,561M FOR YEAR 2021

In its drive at improving the services of Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the agency has proposed a sum of N240,561,850.42 for the year 2021 budget of “Recovery and Sustainability’’.

The Commissioner in  the Ministry, Hon. Afolabi Afuape while defending the budget  before Committee of Financial Appropriation, State House of Assembly, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, stated that the personnel cost of the year ending stood at N90,000,000.00 at 51.61 per cent. 

Afuape said that as result of implementation of the minimum wage, the personnel have increased to N124,488,412.37 at 51.75 percent with an increase of 0.14percent saying, the overhead cost would be N57,783,500.62 in the next fiscal year.

The Commissioner explained further that the Capital expenditure of the ministry in year 2019 was N2,508,000.00, while proposal for year 2021 was put at N58,289,937.43 which was 24.23 percent, meant for the construction of more offices, Library for the Traditional Institution, provision of ICT Infrastructure, renovation of Obas Complex and Conference Hall.

The Committee Chairman, Hon. Kunle Sobukanla however charged them on proper implementation of their budget.
