The Department of Accountancy, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has received a grant of six hundred thousand Naira from Ogun State Poly Accountancy 83/88 Alumni Association (OSPA8388), today, Thursday, 1 July, 2021.
The grant is to help the Department in ease of administration of students’ academic affairs, and to promote virtual learning interactions between students and Academic Staff of the Department.
According to the President of the Association, and Asiwaju Mayegun-elect of Egbaland, Chief Sina Luwoye, the grant is to also enable the department to transparently manage student performance feedback.
Speaking further, Chief Luwoye, who is also the CEO of Ecogas Energy Resource Limited, disclosed that the association was formed with the aim to give back educational support to their alma-mater, promote friendship, and self helps.
He said that the grant was presented to achieve some set objectives within a period of two years.
Chief Luwoye urged the department to judiciously spend the money adding that the bar of the grant would be raised immediately if the money is spent well.
He reiterated that the Alumni Association would continue to do better in the near future to support their alma-mater.
Dr. Joseph Olukayode Ogunwede, Head Department of Accountancy, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, while receiving the grant, appreciated the Alumni Association (OSPA8388) for remembering their school and giving back.
He further thanked the Association for making MAPOLY proud and ensuring that the educational system is improved.
Members in virtual attendance included Mrs Lanre Lawal FCA, the Vice President of the Association who presented the cheque letter of behalf of the association, Mr Niyi Zacheous FCA from Uk, Mrs Tayo Ama FCA from South Africa, Mr Dimeji Ogunyemi FCA and Mr Femi Ladipo FCA from USA.
Some of the department’s Student leaders present included Adebayo Ezekiel, Samuel Matthew, Adebisi Toheeb and others.
