Some Egba Chiefs and their companies on Friday gave palliative materials to the needy especially the Senior Citizens, Widows and Widowers, as well as indigent people at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
The Otun Baade Aje of Egbaland, Chief Tunji Sunmonu, Chairman of the Chicken Republic Fast Foods, Lalubu Street, Abeokuta, on Friday, donated Big size Butter Krust Gateway loaves of Bread to the Palace towards giving succours to the Egba and the residents.
Chief Tunji Sunmonu, who is also the Okanlomo of Ake, had earlier last week performed same exercise at Ake Palace.
In his message to the Alake, Chief Tunji Sunmonu promised to sustain his support for the Alake’s Project of giving succours to people in the immediate Communities.
Also the Elebute of Egbaland, Chief Adejare Shobayo and his, Erelu Chief (Mrs) Mojisola, added to the relief materials, being forwarded to the Alake to cater for the Egba Communities.
The foodstuffs included packages of rice and garri.
Speaking on behalf of the Elebutes, their representative, Engineer Olusegun Odejayi, told the Alake that both the Elebute and Erelu Elebute Egbaland would always support the Alake in all his Egba Welfare Projects.
Engineer Odejayi said that the Elebutes would be doing more in the near future.
In similar development, an indigenous Egba company, which preferred anonymity, also brought packs of rice which were distributed to the needy and vulnerable that came to the Palace.
In his appreciation message to the donors, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo commended donors unique Egba Patriots, joining him in fighting the “Hunger virus” and the new the Coronavirus.
While thanking all donors including the Egba Groups, Communities, Companies and Individuals, who had been subscribing to the current Egba Project, “Give Succours To Your Neighbours,” Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, appealed to the recipients, to be orderly and peaceful while the exercise lasted.
Two Egba Chiefs, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa and Baaroyin Layi Labode, were present at the occasion.
