The Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has called on philanthropists in the State to assist in moving the education sector to a desirable standard.
Mrs. Abiodun made this call while hosting members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun state branch, in her Office in Abeokuta.
She said the call became imperative to address the deplorable condition of schools across the State, as government alone could not be saddled with the challenges faced in all sectors, saying developing the State was a task for all.
The First Lady called for sensitization to make more people, particularly, the wealthy indigenes within and in Diaspora support the education of children in the State through provision of infrastructure and fund.
She promised her continued support in her capacity as the wife of the Governor for the education sector and the ANCOPSS, adding that the present administration would ensure teachers’ motivation for better performance.
The State President of ANCOPSS, Dr. Olubunmi Womiloju earlier in her remark, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for her efforts and passion for the education sector, describing her as a mother with a large heart.
She called on government to give more attention to secondary education, which was a bridge between the primary and the tertiary education, noting that students in secondary schools were in their adolescent age, a period she described as critical in the different stages of life.
