“Firstly, I thanked God. I also thanked His Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Okukenu IV, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland. I appreciated him immensely.”

“When I received this letter, I was overwhelmed with happiness that the Alake has blessed me with this title.”

“It is my fervent prayer that this peaceful coexistence between us would not diminish. Also, the smooth relationship between His Majesty, Oba Gbadebo and I, should not be tarnished , most especially because he did not rob me of my rights. If it were another Monarch that put premium on wealth and other factors, he might have decided that another person would be appointed from somewhere else as the new Iyaloja.”

“But Oba Gbadebo did not consider all of these, rather, he looked at my past efforts and smooth relationships with the market men and women and deemed it fit to make me the Iyaloja. And I am glad that His Majesty honoured me this way, which made all the market men and women to rejoice and dance when I received the appointment letter.”

“This meant that it was what they wanted that our Monarch did for us. I am also seizing this opportunity to pray that my tenure would be fruitful and peaceful, and all the market stakeholders should have a positive experience during my time. I also pray that God should enable the Government to favour the market men and women towards development and prosperity.”

“My projections are to fix and enhance all areas that are in need. I am ready and fully prepared to take up the leadership mantle and harmonize all market stakeholders towards utmost development and flourishing of businesses’” she said.
