Dr. Success K. Uchime, an Enugu State-based Missionary Apostle and President, Kingdom Missions Outreach, has lamented the state of the nation’s economy and worsening security, warning that the nation is fast entering into reverse gear.
Apostle Kanayo, the widely travelled, while speaking with on the state of the nation, lamented the nation’s bad economy, worsening insecurity, declaring that life expectancy has become very low, while there is a high level of infrastructural decay.
Dr. Uchime stressed: “At 61, Nigeria is supposed to have navigated away from some of the perennial challenges confronting her.
“Terribly bad economy, worsening insecurity, very low life expectancy and very high level infrastructural decay are some of those challenges we as a nation have not come to terms with.
“Yet, we claim to be the giant of Africa. I am really weeping for my country at 61. I am really feeling so bad remembering our predicaments.”
He wondered how on earth Nigerians had continued to shout ‘Up NEPA’ since Independence, whenever power went off due to the level of infrastructural decay.
The cleric lamented: “I am really weeping for Nigeria, my country at 61. The country is fast moving in reverse gear, and if care is not taken, it will plunge. For no one goes very far in reverse gear.
“When can we get it right? Infrastructural development and maintenance are at its lowest level, human development is nothing to write home about, and the blood of citizens is being shed on a daily basis. Yet, we claim to be independent! Please, independent of what, if I may ask?”
Dr Uchime maintained that the nation had really been bleeding profusely: her citizens were being killed like chickens everyday; insecurity everywhere.
He stressed that terrorism and kidnapping had been on the increase, while nepotism and tribalism had eaten into the fabric of the nation’s existence, adding that ethnic and religious killings were fast becoming a norm and yet those in authority did not seem to be perturbed.
He stated: “Something must be wrong somewhere. I believe we are not getting it right somewhere. At 61, we are supposed to have been established as a strong and virile sovereign nation to the envy of other nations.
