ABEOKUTA – The outgoing governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has reaffirmed that nobody will stop his preferred governorship candidate, Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade from emerging the ogun state Governor in 2019.
Amosun who disclosed this on Thursday during a town hall meeting on the 2019 budget at the June 12 cultural centre, Abeokuta, noted that his preferred candidate will emerge the state governor in May 2019 and continue from where he stopped, adding that his opponents’ prayers will not come to pass.
“Hon Akinlade will succeed me when I finish my tenure in may 2019, because, he is the only one who is capable to continue from where I stopped in the infrastrutural development in the state.
“We will win in every local government in the state, either yewa, ijebu, Abeokuta south count them, we are ready for them, anywhere they go we shall meet them there.
“They can not choose for the people, the people know the right candidate who is Hon. Akinlade.
“How many are they. They said they want to pick deputy governor from Yewa that they denied from producing the governor and in Central here, they are not acceptable, even in Ijebu they claimed to have come from, they are not totally accepted. We outnumbered them”.
The outgoing governor while speaking on the infrastructural development in the state, said that his current administration has done a lot in developing the state, saying that the best candidate who will continue from the infrastructural development is Akinlade.
He also said that his administration will continue to break new grounds in all field of human endeavours and will not rest on its oars in making life worth living for the populace
According to him, government will remain unwavering in the development of the people adding that the success recorded by the current administration was as a result of support received from all stakeholders.
Amosun also submitted that his administration has reduced poverty level to the bearest minimum in the state, assurring that the state will remain enviable among its peers.
He however noted that the 2019 budget which has been the last stride for his administration will focus driving home all the projects under construction on the rural areas.
