Ogun State House of Assembly have screened 13 caretaker Committee Chairmen and their members from Ogun East and West Senatorial Districts, with an observation of a minute silent for one of the Chairmanship nominees from Ipokia Local Government, Mr. Shuaib Adeosun, who died prior to the screening.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, who presided over the screening, said the Assembly would strengthen its oversight functions at the local government level, to ensure effective performance of the nominees, if eventually confirmed and sworn in by the Governor.
Chairmen-nominee and transition committees members from Ogun Waterside, Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ijebu North East, Ikenne, Ijebu North, Sagamu, Remo North and Ijebu East were screened by the lawmakers, while screening of the Caretaker Committee members for Ipokia Local Government was postponed till further notice, due to the death of the Chairmanship nominee from the Local Government.
Other Chairmen and members screened by the Assembly included those from Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko Afon and Ado-Odo/Ota.
